About Our Lord of the Rings Trivia

Middle-earth exists twice over - once in Tolkien's prose, once in Peter Jackson's six films - and the two versions are forever quarrelling over the details. A rider reaches the Ford of Bruinen and it is Arwen in the film, Glorfindel on the page. Faramir lets the Ring walk free in the book and drags it halfway to Osgiliath on screen. The Army of the Dead is dismissed at the river in one telling and sweeps across the Pelennor in the other. Same world, same names, different truths.

That seam between page and screen is what this weekly puzzle is built on. Every answer - a person, a place, a thing, a beast - appears in both the books and the films, so nothing turns on trivia only one camp would know. But the sharpest clues live exactly where the two accounts part ways, asking you to hold both versions in your head at once and recognise a figure by the space between them.
